Christmas Adventures - Ornament Making

Finding balance this year has been a little bit of a challenge, work has been busy and the stuff I had nothing but time for last year I have to schedule on my calendar this year. When it was announced that we would be doing an ornament making night at our complex Tamy and I agreed we would not be missing this event. I'm so glad we took this time with our new friends and neighbors, we not only made great memories but beautiful ornaments as well.

Stephanie from Paint it all Joy supplied everything we needed and an abundance of patience to teach us to make these ornaments. You can visit her website to find local classes or if you are looking for that last minute holiday gift she teaches online as well. We were really impressed with what we were able to create.

We had so much fun bonding with all our neighbors and laughing over our creations. It has been an absolute joy making new friends! It was so great spending the evening with Tamy too, crafting and creating our new ornaments and possibly a new holiday tradition!

Our ornaments are hanging proudly around the house and they make me so happy seeing them. Here are some tips for crafting a great holiday:

  1. Make time to do the things that will bring you joy. This may mean adding it to your work schedule or saying no to something else but the holidays should be about balance and doing the things that make you happy.

  2. Don't be afraid to do something out of your comfort zone. Crafting is not in Tamy's wheelhouse and painting and drawing is certainly not in mine so these ornaments could have turned out disastrous and even if they did we tried something, we had fun doing it and we created one of a kind keepsakes too!

  3. Be a part of your community! I have to tell you that part of the fun in creating these ornaments was doing it with our neighbors and getting to know a local business we might have missed out on if we didn't join.

There is still time and you have the power to create the Christmas you want to remember. Work will still be there in the new year, chores will still be there, don't miss out on this time to make memories and hold the people you love close! What have you done this holiday season to make it extra special?
