As Queen Elsa once said "conceal don't feel" and for me, I'm trying to conceal my dark circles! We've talked about it before but I have always had dark circles under my eyes, I was recently asked what cream I suggest to battle dark circles and my response - a good concealer! We will talk about eye creams again soon but for today I am going to take you through a couple of concealers. One is Clinique and the other two are Hourglass. I wore the same foundation and powders in each of the looks below to keep it fair and to let the concealer speak for itself, ready? Here we go!
It pains me to write this but the first concealer we are talking about today is Clinique's Even Better all-over concealer and I don't like it. This was a complete shock to me that I didn't love this because I swear by most of Clinique's products. I wanted to love it, I love that the blend sponge included as part of the bottle but what I expected from a concealer that is advertised as full coverage is that it be full coverage and it just isn't...
Here I am wearing the Even Better Concealer above and it's just not what I was hoping for. Now I'll be completely honest my mom bought this and she didn't love it so she gave it to me, so I didn't pay for it. Now will I wear this on a light makeup day? Yes, it will provide just enough coverage that I won't be completely scary but once this bottle is done will I go out and buy another? No I sure wouldn't. Next up Hidden Corrective Concealer by Hourglass! I have been using this for over a year and I really like it. It goes on super smooth, it contains vitamin E, leaves my skin looking really great. I have gone through several sticks of this concealer and with a $34 price tag that means I must really like it!
This concealer is super smooth, feels super good and goes to battle against the dark circles which makes me happy.
Another win from Hourglass - the Vanish Airbrush Concealer! I just started using this and I absolutely love it. I feel it makes my under eyes look pretty flawless and it lasts all day without creasing or running!
I also use the concealer as a base for my eyeshadow and it really makes for a nice starting point to my eye color and keeps it from traveling down my lid in the Florida heat! I am happy I tried this and I use it on full coverage days, special occasion days, days I really want to look my best.
