Welcome to the kick off of Makeup Mondays!! Each Monday I'll share a makeup focused post where I'll share everything from how many looks I can get out of one palette, to theme looks, to favorite products. That is what we are starting with today, some of my favorite products, my go to items, my must haves. Please know that I get nothing for sharing these items, I purchased them all typically from Sephora where I've maintained a VIB Rouge status for the last several years. I'm sharing these items simply because I love them and it helps me justify to my wife why I buy so many cosmetics - doing it for the blog! HA!
Ok let's start with moisturizer, I received the Original Skin Matte Moisturizer as a sample and I thought it would be too good to be true, but let me tell you this for sure holds up to the Florida heat and humidity! It went from being a sample to a repeat purchase. Some days I just pop on this moisturizer and some concealer and call it a day.
This next one, the Hourglass Ambient Light palette was purchased in Vegas when we happened to run into Hourglass representatives, they sat me and my mom down and played with makeup and the gal that did mine said magic words to me "this is like an Instagram filter in makeup form" SOLD! She obviously had my number, but honestly the result is amazing, it makes my face look smooth and blemish free which isn't always the case.
Foundation is tricky, you don't want to look like you're wearing a mask, you don't want it to cake on and clump especially when sweating, so finding a good one is really important. Lucky for me I have found three amazing options. The Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick is lightweight, goes on so smooth and beautifully and travels super well. I couldn't help but fall in love with it. The CliniqueFIT Workout Makeup is a true God send! It includes SPF to keep you safe for all of those amazing outdoor activities, the photo above is me wearing this makeup immediately after a half marathon, 13.1 miles has nothing on CliniqueFIT! And lastly my every day foundation is the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer, I love this, I have been using this for years and it has amazing coverage without feeling heavy or gloppy (yeah I just made that word up)
To say I'm obsessed with eyeshadow palettes would be a total and complete understatement. I have over fifty at last count and picking a favorite is not something I'm able to do so I give you my tower of go to palettes! Currently I am addicted to any palette by Anastasia of Beverly Hills, great pigment, goes on super smooth, limited fall out. In addition to my Anastasia love, for the past couple of months I've been reaching for the Urban Decay Naked Ultraviolet palette again and again and again and again! And since we are talking about Urban Decay lets talk about their All Nighter setting spray. My favorites are the De-Slick and Ultra Matte. This is true to its name and will indeed last all night, or all day or whenever it is you need it to work - it will!
If you think I'm obsessed with eyeshadow you should see how many lipsticks and lip glosses I have! Clinique Chubby sticks are my favorites right now and have been for a long time. Ages ago I purchased the Crayola Chubby Stick set which is no longer available but they still have so many amazing colors. My ultimate favorite the Black Honey, all three items in the above photo are from Sephora, Black Honey Chubby Stick, Superbalm Gloss and Almost Lipstick.
At the end of the day do you need to get all this great makeup off? You're washing your face at night right? You need Clinique's Take the Day Off, it works on the toughest mascaras, the longest lasting lipstick and the most amazing eyeliners. I use the Cleansing Balm every night and it works like magic and I love the cleansing oil which I use both to remove makeup from my face and to clean my brushes, gotta love a dual purpose product!
