One Little Word 2021

Most years I pick a word to live with for the year. A word to act as guide, a word to act as a beacon to help me navigate the year. It helps to have this word. For several years I've joined Ali Edwards One Little Word year long workshop. I participated last year and it really helped me get through a trying year so I took the plunge and joined for this year as well. You can find more about the class here.

This year my word came to me really early, back in November it just hit me and I couldn't turn back. I really connect with the word Believe and all the promise it holds. With everything that has been so difficult and all the negativity, and all the chaos going on in the world I have to believe - believe things will get better and believe that the future will be brighter. I also have to believe in myself, take chances, play, create, have fun. This year I am using an Archer & Olive blackout dot notebook for this project and so far I'm having a blast. I wanted something that was different, that I love looking up inspiration for on the internet but shy away from in real life, so I cracked open this book and believed I could make this project great. I can't wait to fill this book with all the ways I connect with this word through the year, to add photos and doodling and writing, so much writing! You can click here for an 10% off code on Archer & Olive's fabulous products.

I believe in this project, I believe that it's important to take the time and do this for me, to remember I love to write, to remember I enjoy these projects! I plan to share the progress of this project throughout the year, I ask that you help to hold me accountable and share your experiences with me if you also pick a word, or if you try one of these notebooks.

I also plan to share where I find my inspiration and when and how I step out of my comfort zone. The above page is based off a spread done by Temi Danso Art - her YouTube Channel and Instagram page are full of inspiration and I highly suggest you check her out. This page was hard for me. Hard because I'm not an artist, hard because I just let go and scribbled and swirled and just had fun. I took a chance, I believed that it would look cute, I trusted that it was worth the risk and I was right, I really enjoyed creating this page! Where do you find inspiration? Who inspires you and what are you hoping to be inspired to do in this new year?

I hope you will join me on this journey with my word and I would love to hear your word if you have one, maybe you have several words I don't think there is a rule against that. I believe this year will be great, even though it's getting off to a rocky start. I believe that together we can do it and I'm so excited to learn and grow with all of you!
